GOLF COURSE

Built: mid-1930’s

Description: Breezy Point is a pretty standard pitch-and-putt layout with a nice setting against the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean.  Set on flat-to-slightly rolling terrain, the course has open fairways, that it make it fun and playable for beginners.  There are some greenside bunkers, which make it interesting, and the wind always plays a factor, even if you've got a sand wedge in your hand.  A nice place to bring someone just starting, and a easy walk with a couple clubs in hand.

Reader Comments: One of my favorite pitch-and-putts anywhere; it's a great setting ... I love being near the water, so it's nice ... A great place to learn and to bring seniors.

Directions: Distance from Manhattan approximately 15 miles.
Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to Belt Pkwy. heading east toward JFK Airport.  Get off at Exit 11S (Marine Pkwy. Bridge).  Head south over bridge and stay right following signs to Riis Park.  Golf course is toward back of parking lot near the boardwalk.
