Description: Built on 160 acres of the beautifully-treed and rolling hills of Suffolk County’s north shore, this place is a expansive joy. The yardage may be a disguise for a design that utilizes the natural terrain to its advantage and offers 18 distinctly different and challenging holes. Exciting elevation changes and breathtaking vistas offer the player both a wonderful visual experience and a uniquely enjoyable test of golf.  With some blind tee shots, a handful of doglegs and a couple of short par-4s, risk-reward golf is the theme on this well-kept (and affordable) gem.

Firing off the tenth tee - on the club’s signature “Great Rock” hole - this 444-yard par-4 plays uphill to a green that is well-guarded, making for one of the tougher holes on the course. It’s followed by a reachable par-4, showing the diversity and eclectic nature of the golf this place has to offer.  With some good bunkering and deceptive approaches, it is no pushover.

Reader Comments: As a better player, it was still challenging enough from the back tees to be a blast.  I’ve learned to play out here and love it more every day.  The greens are in great shape and some bunkers can just kill a good round.  I love the atmosphere; very inviting.  A very "sporting" course, fun and enjoyable.  A true shot-makers golf course.  The staff made our group feel welcome and couldn't be more accommodating...we'll definitely be back.

Directions: Distance from Manhattan approximately 60 miles.
LIE East to Exit 68 (William Floyd Pkwy.).  Proceed north on William Floyd Pkwy. to the end.  Go right (east) on Rte. 25A for approximately 3 miles to Sound Ave.  Bear left onto Sound Ave. and at the first left turn (Fairway Dr.) go left to course on left.
