Heartland Golf Park - Public 9-HOLE PAR-3 COURSE
General Information: 631-667-7400
Bar / Lounge: Yes
like No. 10 at Winged Foot West, No. 13 at Merion East, and No. 4 at National Golf Links of America. Although the holes are shorter than their originals -- and sometimes not as representative as a purist would like -- this place is, well, just very cool. For every golfer, whether they're engaged the history of the game or not, this is a must-see. Signature Hole: No. 9, 132-yard Par 3. This is a replica of No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, where they play the Players Championship every year. It's an island green, with water surrounding on every angle. The difference between Heartland and Sawgrass is that Heartland has a waterfall, to boot! (Just in case replicating Sawgrass isn't man-made enough for you?!). Reader Comments: I've learned to play the game here and I like it a lot ... I'm never going to get out on to some of the great golf courses of the world, as this is my little taste ... Some holes are as genuine to the originals as I'd like, but it doesn't subtract from the pure enjoyment out there.
