Maple Moor Golf Course - Public 18-HOLE COURSE
Pro: Tom Avezzano, PGA
Amenities: 18-HOLE COURSE
Description: Maple Moor takes pride in the fact that it was Westchester's first public course, opening in 1927. Tom Winton designed a nice track that, well, seems made for public play. Although named after the large amount of maple trees that line the fairways, the course is relatively open and offers a non-stress go-around. An easy walk, Maple Moor has a variety of hole designs that keeps it interesting throughout. Not all that long, with some rolling terrain and sparsely bunkered, this a good course to fine-tune your game, as well as a good place learn and get better for the intermediate golfer. The conditions have improved dramatically since Billy Casper Management has taken over, and there are supposed to be more improvements coming. Signature Hole: No. 18, 395-yard Par 4. The fairway is a slight dogleg to the left that requires an uphill second shot to a green with traps on left and right. A par is a good score here. Reader Comments: A fun course, easy but enjoyable ... The new management [Billy Casper] is starting to work wonders here. Conditions are better than ever and the pace of play has improved dramatically ... The new golf carts with GPS tracking are terrific.
