Description:This course is a real treat, as it offers a fine links-style layout with the amenities and service of a private club. Although it's considered "links-style," Mill Pond also has groupings of trees that make for a real good mix of settings.
The par-70 course isn't very long by today's standards, but it is situated on over 120 acres of rolling hills that surround three lakes. The four sets of tees allow all golfers the opportunity to be challenged, but not overly intimidated. With well-placed bunkers, large undulating greens and water bordering seven holes, there is a premium on course management and ball placement. Most fairways provide generous landing areas and many of the greens are open in front, offering players the option to employ the bump-and-run (an ideology that has been lost on a lot of new “links-style” courses).

Signature Hole: No. 15, 454-yard Par 4. A difficult tee shot to a fairway guarded by a string of bunkers on the left and dense woods on the right. A long second shot plays to a large, well-bunkered green nestled into a cove of native pines. A good test of skill for any golfer.
Reader Comments:A very enjoyable round of golf ... Beautifully maintained, and they dealt with our outing wonderfully ... The whole experience was a real treat for public golf ... Not too tough, but great fun. One of the best practice facilities on Long Island.
