Description: Amidst a beautful setting in the heart of Suffolk County’s bucolic pine barrens, this tract is often associated with its fantastic, incredibly large greens, strategically placed fairway bunkers and beautiful scenery. The greens although they’re not very undulating, the sheer size of them can be mentally daunting, it will only a matter of time before you find yourself with a 80-foot putt and very little idea of how to deal with it. If played from the back tees the course stretches out to over 7,000 yards. Water comes into play on nine holes and sets the tone for a relaxed, yet challenging round of golf in a very serene setting. It is essentially flat and fairly open, and with its length, is a fair test for beginners and advanced players alike.
Signature Hole: #12. A very long, 466 yard, par 4 (from the back tees). Fairway is a slight dogleg left, that leads to a well bunkered green. Chosen by Newsday as one of the 18 toughest holes on Long Island.
Reader Comments: Can be quite challenging from the tips. Some of the largest greens I’ve ever seen...3 and even 4 putts are not uncommon here. Always makes for a wonderful golfing experience. Challenging, yet fun and enjoyable for all skill levels. The course is always well maintained and the friendly, accommodating staff make you feel welcome. Make sure that you get out and play this wonderful course, you won’t be disappointed.

The most prominent feature throught the course would be the large, undulating, bentgrass greens. Because the course is kept in such good shape, they are normally very fast and can create havoc if you find yourself in the part of the putting surface. They are also guarded by some bunkers that, although not too deep or punishing, create a need for strategy and course management.
Adding to the ambience is also the abundance of small ponds and fescue grasses. Although normally off the beaten path, the grasses frame fairways and greens to make for an aesthetically pleasing round, where the water comes into play on a couple holes yet isn't too intrustive. The front nine is definitely more open, built on the gently rolling terrain with few trees, with the back nine tightening as it is routed through the more wooded areas of the property. Overall, it's a great mix of golf holes for all levels.
Reader Comments:Deceptively challenging despite its length ... Interesting par-3’s, ultra-fast greens ... Bring your A-game if you plan on scoring here ... The terrific staff here makes you feel at home.
